Greta and I have amassed over ten years of youth work, both in ministry and
therapeutic settings.  Our undergraduate education in Recreation Management,
Family Studies, Adolescent and Family Psychology prepared us and propelled us
toward our graduate studies in Adventure-Based Psychotherapy, Adventure
Education, Human Relations and Marriage and Family Therapy.

While we find considerable value in traditional therapy, we believe that the best
therapy is the relationship between people, not clients.  People who share similar
experiences become tied to one another.  People who work toward a common goal
build community.  People who strengthen each other, seek God together, and hold
each other accountable as Christian believers build bonds that will endure.

So many families are struggling to find peace... struggling to find answers to their
family conflict.... struggling with their "troubled teens".  We founded Palmer
Adventures, LLC and the Adventure Academy USA to meet families and teens where
they are, to stand in the gap, and 'exceed the need'.

In our experience, there are many quality programs to choose from, each offering
stylistically different opportunities.  The Adventure Academy USA was created to
break loose from the standard "boring-building" boarding school.  After all, if teens
are having trouble, why pay thousands of dollars a month to just send them to
another building-based program.  At the Adventure Academy USA, we don't waste
your tuition dollars in mortgage and utilities payments.  We focus on your teen!

About Palmer Adventures, LLC
In the beginning...
D.B. and Greta met in college in Southern Oregon
and set out to work with youth and families.  Rather
than jumping right into business, we purposefully
placed ourselves in apprenticeship with mentors who
could mold, challenge, and spur us toward greater
knowledge and skill.  These alliances have been
incredible, and the rewards too great to list!
Our preparation and experience...
Over the last ten years, Greta and D.B. have
worked with some of the best in the fields of
wilderness therapy, youth work, academic
boarding schools, and adventure/expedition
leadership.  We have performed under contract in
AR, AK, WY, MT, MN, UT, OK, OR; and, British
Columbia (CN) and the Czech Republic.
Where we are NOW!
After being asked to start our own businesses, for
many years, and having waited to do so; it is now our
privilege to offer our unique services.  While many
companies are begun at the first opportunity, we offer
a program based on years of preparation, patience,
and experience.  We will not operate without these.
