DB Palmer: MA
(candidate 2007)
B.S. Rec. Mngmt
M.A. Human
Relations (cand.)

DB has spent the
equivalent of several
years exclusively in
the 'field', in addition
to his over ten years
of youth and family
work in adventure,
culminate in his ability to connect with teens and families.
He is a patient, passionate friend and mentor who is still
walking and leading others toward Christian maturity and
greater faith.  Jim has endless stories that make campfires
a "historical and educational" experience for all!

Jim has been a tireless advocate of Tree of Life, which first
came to life in his mind years ago as he was cutting
firewood.  He was struck that while he was delivering
dead
wood
to supply heat/warmth for his home, God challenged
him to begin a ministry that would have everlasting
results... and so
Tree of Life Christian Wilderness
Expeditions was begun.

Jim supports each family by providing the clinical
environment, both in the field and back at home, ensuring
that while your teen is being challenged toward growth that
issues in the home are also being looked at with an eye
toward next steps.
leading youth toward greater growth and awareness.  His
passion for wild places is second only to his passion for
serving and seeking Christ, primarily through serving youth
and families.  Having directed a number of programs, DB
brings a broad range of experiential, clinical, and spiritual
elements to TLC.  DB is married and the father of two.

He is a fan of classical, folk, and celtic music; loves to study
the integration of psychology and theology; is an avid reader
of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R.Tolkien, and other Christian classics;
and would like to spend more time practicing his banjo and
highland smallpipes.  He is an avid cyclist, canoeist, and
cross-country skier/winter camper; and can often be found
guiding local Class IV+ rafting trips in his free time.

DB supports the overall field environment, ensuring that
staff and program issues are dealt with effectively.  DB
believes that we are called to the wilderness to seek God,
like the prophets, kings, and leaders of old.    Matthew 3:3

Note: Palmer Adventures does not own or operate the Adventure Academy USA (Adventure Academy Inc.) or Tree of
Life Christian Wilderness Expeditions for Youth.  Palmer Adventures provides services TO these individual companies,
primarily website management, adventure logistics, admissions support, employment services, and other services.  Each
program is run by independent leadership operating under the requirements of the state and federal government.  All
programs are, however, united in purpose and share ideas, passion, and zeal for Jesus Christ and Christian salvation.
